In last months blog post we showed you a selection of some of the bespoke timber doors we’ve crafted at Benjamin Henry Ltd. This month, we thought we’d move on to windows.

Wooden windows receive bad press for being high maintanance & although they do need more care than their plastic counterparts, they are can last as long as 100 years so are a worthwhile investment. On average, timber-framed windows last over 40 years, while plastic has a service life of just 25 years, according to the Green Building Forum.

The most important thing is keeping on top of maintanance with yearly checks & repainting or staining as/when needed depending on location & weather conditions to make sure the wood does not deteriorate.

As our windows are fully customisable, they can also be fitted with double/triple glazed glass options which offers better acoustic insulation to reduce outside noise. The multiple layered glass & air pockets between them create a barrier which minimises sound transmission.
